The Mentoring Connection Workshop
When mentoring is reduced to a program, it loses its heart. Mentoring at its best is relational, organic, flexible, and intensely intentional. The Mentoring Connection training experience is an introduction to biblical mentoring?a Mentoring 101. The training starts with an overview of the relational priorities of Jesus. Then you'll go on to explore what mentoring is... and is not. Next you'll explore five different types of mentors. Finally, you'll be introduced to the phases of the mentoring process. In classic Cadre fashion, this training experience will be highly interactive, fun, biblical, and practical.
What Will You Learn?
- The first step in becoming a mentor to others is to be a mentee.
- That God can use you to have a powerful impact in the life of another person via a mentoring friendship.
- Practical relational and mentoring skills based on Jesus' model of life and ministry.
- Thankfulness for people God has used formally and informally as mentors in your own life.
- What mentoring is and isn't.
- An understanding of different styles and types of mentoring?and where you fit as a mentor.
- A helpful process for identifying a mentee's needs and then walking alongside him/her.
Who Should Attend?
- Anyone who is already formally or informally mentoring and walking alongside others.
- Anyone who is not yet involved in mentoring but is interested in exploring what God may have for him/her.
Each person who participates in The Mentoring Connection training gets a 48-page training manual. Integrated into this training manual are 23 brief follow-through Bible studies to help you keep learning when the workshop is over. These 23 follow-through Bible studies are great for personal study but ideal for use in small group learning communities.
