The Life God Has Always Wanted You to Have-Part 1
Why settle for the life you've always wanted when you can have the life God has always wanted you to have?
If you've been tracking with Cadre Connection, you know I've been trying like crazy for a number of months now to paint a clear picture of The Disciplemaking Genius of Jesus. (If you haven't read The Disciplemaking Genius of Jesus series or listened to this audio, then I encourage you to do so--preferably with a friend or two). In short, I believe the disciplemaking genius of Jesus was his disciplemaking learning community--his DLC. It was in Jesus' DLC that his followers learned--not just the teachings of Jesus--but also his way of life. Jesus' followers then lived and replicated Jesus' disciplemaking way of life.
Make no mistake about it. If you claim to be a follower of Jesus, the life that God has always wanted you to have is a Jesus-like disciplemaking way of life.
But where should you begin?
Consider the disciplemaking genius of Jesus.
It should be no surprise to discover that before Jesus chose The Twelve, he spent the entire night praying.
- One of those days Jesus went out to a mountainside to pray, and spent the night praying to God." --Luke 6:12
What was he praying about? Was it about who he should choose? Or maybe he already knew who he would choose--so he spent the night praying for them? We don't know.
But we do know this: He prayed.
So why not follow the disciplemaking genius of Jesus and start with prayer?
I challenge you print The Disciplemaker's Prayer and pray it every day for the next 21 days with the anticipation that the Holy Spirit will speak to your heart clearly and compellingly about whom you should pull close in your own Jesus-like disciplemaking learning community. The day this happens is the day you are on your way to the life God has always wanted you to have.
Why settle for the life you've always wanted when you can have the life God has always wanted you to have? Yeah I know. If you're like most people, you think your plans are way more exciting that God's. If this is you, I dirty double dog dare you to take the 21 Day Challenge-and find out for yourself.
Do you accept the 21 Day Challenge?
