Unleashing the
Power of Training:
 If
you want to merely serve coffee at Starbucks, you must first complete
twenty-four hours of training.
If you want to work at a Disney theme park for eight weeks during the
summer, you must first complete four to six weeks of training.
If you want to serve in the average local church in Sunday school, small
groups, or youth ministry—where the life-changing Word of God is
taught and eternal destinies are literally on the line—the closest
thing you’ll get to training is, “Here’s your curriculum
guide. We’re praying for you.”
Why do organizations take coffee and fun more seriously than we tend
to take training volunteers for life-changing ministry?
