God Accomplishes His Plans

Audio Challenge

Nehemiah believed that God would be the source of success-—even when he was facing opposition to what God had placed in his heart!

Key Passages:
Nehemiah 2:20, 4:4
2:20 I answered them by saying, “The God of heaven will give us success. We his servants will start rebuilding, but as for you, you have no share in Jerusalem or any claim or historic right to it.”

4:4 “Hear us, O our God, for we are despised. Turn their insults back on their own heads. Give them over as plunder in a land of captivity.”

Reflect: Why would God allow opposition to his plans?

• Since God’s purposes can’t be thwarted, what is your response to God when you face opposition to his plans in your life?

Application:
Ask God to give you a Nehemiah-like faith for the purposes to which he has called you.

Bonus Question: Do you believe Nehemiah is ultimately offering his enemies a curse or a blessing in Nehemiah 4:4? Explain.
