God's in ChargeNehemiah believed God was the ultimate authority in the daily events of his life! Key Passage: Nehemiah 1:11b Take a moment to reflect on the implications of this verse. • Stop and thank God for the current career or season of life (currently student but later in life it could be seasons such as a new mom or dad, grandparent, single, married, employed, unemployed, etc.) where he has placed you. Are you grateful or ungrateful for this season? Explain: • Instead of making a list of plans you want God to bless, it’s time to shift your view, like Nehemiah--releasing control of your life to God. Take a blank piece of paper, sign it and keep it in a place where you'll see it often, as a constant reminder that God’s in charge. Assignment: Stop and tell God that you are offering him a blank slate to use your life for his purposes. • How will your awareness that God uniquely wants to use you at your place of work, school, or in this season of life, affect the way you live this week? This year? Over the next 10 years? |
