God Answers Prayer

Audio Challenge

Nehemiah believed God answers prayer—even if we may not recognize that answer without weeping and fasting for days, maybe even months!

Key Passage: Nehemiah 1:4-6. Also see 1:11a.

When I heard these things, I sat down and wept. For some days I mourned and fasted and prayed before the God of heaven. Then I said: “O LORD, God of heaven, the great and awesome God, who keeps his covenant of love with those who love him and obey his commands, let your ear be attentive and your eyes open to hear the prayer your servant is praying before you day and night for your servants, the people of Israel.”

• Do you believe God answers prayer? Why?

• What need makes you weep?

• What happens inside you when you bring this request to God?

Assignment: Stop and ask God to burn his needs deep within your heart. Ask God to give you patience to wait for his timing, and to develop you as a prayer warrior in the meantime.

His life can help you get ahold of a BIG view of God that will cause you to worship and live life with much more faith, passion and bigger dreams!
