What’s Your Vision for Middle School Ministry?

October 20, 2009

Just finished a weekend of equipping middle schoolers to minister to their peers, and am so reminded that few things energize and inspire me more than seeing God grab hold of a young life to change the world.

Here is one leader’s vision for middle school ministry:

  1. BulletI want to learn how to live by the Spirit.

  2. BulletI want to learn how to be a leader who is driven by prayer.

  3. BulletI want middle school ministry training, like EQUIP, to be simple—so volunteer-led ministries will leave encouraged and empowered that “We can do this!”

  4. BulletI want to be more strategic than big.

  5. BulletI want to invest into other middle school leaders.

  6. BulletI want leaders and students to grasp a vision for middle school students—that middle schoolers can do all kinds of ministry at their own stage in life. They don’t have to wait until 11th grade to really minister to their friends and share the gospel.

  7. BulletI want churches who come to EQUIP to leave confident and able to not come back, but to do their own.

What’s yours?
